Worship and Liturgy
Ascension celebrates Holy Eucharist every Sunday at 8:00 am using the Rite I liturgy and at 10:15 am using the Rite I and Rite II liturgy.  On the first  Sunday each month we use Rite I .  On the second through fourth we use Rite II.
When there is a fifth Sunday in the month we have youth of the
church do the service.
Our worship space is traditional in its floor plan, while our services mix both contemporary and traditional forms. We stand, sit, or kneel as the rubrics allow and as individual comfort requires.  New hymns and sung responses are combined freely with older hymns and music.
Christian Formation, for both children and adults,
is held at 9:00 am before the service
Lay participation in worship is valued and encouraged at Ascension, and includes readers, chalice bearers, acolytes, and an excellent choir to lead us in singing and enhance our worship experience.  Following both the 8:00 am and 10:15 am services we have hospitality which allows us an opportunity to meet newcomers and to touch base with old friends.
Among our special traditions at Ascension are a Jesse Tree service on the first Sunday in Advent, a celebration of the arrival of the Magi in Epiphany, the stripping of the high alter as part of Maundy Thursday worship, and a service of Holy Eucharist with breakfast in the Rectory yard on the first or second Sunday in June.
